Pulse Nigeria, Africa’s leading innovative media company, is seeking a Tech Manager to join its dynamic team in Maryland, Lagos. As a Tech Manager, you will play a key role in managing website content, optimizing SEO strategies, and ensuring an optimal user experience. Position Overview:

Pulse is committed to delivering engaging content and creative marketing solutions to Africa’s young audience. We run news websites and social channels across both Francophone and Anglophone West Africa, as well as East Africa. We are looking to recruit a Tech Manager who will be instrumental in managing website content, enhancing SEO, and ensuring the websites are accessible, functional, and user-friendly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Website Performance Monitoring: Ensure that Pulse and client websites function optimally, including regular checks for broken links, errors, and any performance issues.
  • Content Management: Collaborate with content creators to ensure website content is accurate, up-to-date, and well-organized. You will also work to categorize and publish new content.
  • User Support and Documentation: Train website users, create user guides, and offer ongoing support to improve the website’s usability.
  • SEO Optimization: Conduct keyword research, optimize on-page elements (e.g., meta tags, headings, URLs), and improve website authority through SEO strategies like building high-quality backlinks.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with the development team to implement changes based on user feedback and collaborate on new features. Also, generate monthly reports and optimize SEO strategies based on data analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A BSc or BA in Computer Science, Design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of web analytics, SEO tools, and website management platforms. Familiarity with HTML/CSS, XML, and CMS is a plus.
  • Analytical and Troubleshooting Abilities: Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
