Job Overview: Tax Analyst

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:

  • Analyze and manage compliance with Nigerian tax laws, including industry-specific taxes like Petroleum Profits Tax (PPT).
  • Prepare and review tax returns and financial documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain adherence to local and national tax regulations.

Tax Planning & Strategy:

  • Develop tax-efficient strategies for company investments and transactions.
  • Assist with budgeting, tax forecasting, and minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their business impact.

Audit & Reporting:

  • Support tax audits and handle queries from tax authorities.
  • Ensure timely submission of tax audit documents and compliance reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive tax records and reconciliation reports.

Collaboration & Advisory:

  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to reconcile tax accounts.
  • Advise on tax implications related to contracts, agreements, and joint ventures.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigeria’s Local Content Development requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

✅ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
✅ Professional certifications like ICAN, ACCA, or CITN are preferred.
✅ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in tax analysis, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
✅ Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
✅ Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations, tax treaties, and transfer pricing.
✅ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
