Job Overview
The Reconciliation Officer will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy by reconciling transactions, bank statements, and client payment records. The role is crucial in ensuring the integrity of financial data, identifying discrepancies, and providing timely reports to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records to maintain accuracy.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between transactions and company accounts.
- Prepare and submit reconciliation reports to management.
- Verify and reconcile client payments in line with sales agreements and property transactions.
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure proper recording of commissions, fees, and revenue streams related to real estate transactions.
- Work closely with the sales and finance teams to validate payment structures and installment plans.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary reconciliation documents.
- Maintain financial data in accounting and ERP software, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance financial reconciliation efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in reconciliation, finance, or accounting (preferably in real estate).
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of financial reconciliation processes.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, ERP systems).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
